5. If you chance to have any savings, then use it to reduce your credit card debts. At present, the Savings Account pays around 5% p.a. But an average credit card is approximately 15% p.a.

6. If you have a 0% APR credit card deal then make full use of the interest earned in your Savings Account together with your savings, to payoff/reduce your credit card debts when your 0% APR credit deal comes to an end.

7. Find a credit counselling organisation whose services are affordable and legitimate to solve your financial problems. All reputable credit counselling organisations offer advice to clients on how to manage their money and debt problems and how to develop their budget. These counsellors, who are certified and trained in money and debt management, will discuss your financial situation and assist you to develop your own personal plan with regards to solving your money problems. (But do make sure that these organisations are reputable. Also, even if the organisation say they are a "non-profit" organisation, remember to check if they are charging high fees or if they are pressurising customers to make "voluntary" contributions.) Friends and family are valuable sources of information and might provide you with suitable referrals.

8. Always review your credit card report from time to time because, through the official information provided, you'll be able to assess your current financial position and tailor your domestic needs accordingly.
